  • There is a beautiful church, a very old. Gothic, as well as other, more famous but less central than the rest, and her many leave, but in vain. Around full of cafes, you can grab a bite to eat.

  • Sint-Jacobskerk is perhaps Gents most weird Church. Seen from the outside is the quite ' messy ' with its composition of virtually all styles from 1000 century onwards. The first church on the site was a chapel in the wood, built in 1093. It was destroyed and replaced by a new Church in the Romanesque style, built around 1120. In the centuries after the Church was extended again and again over the current flavor, and the result was what we see today: a large complex with Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and eclectic styles elements. Sint. Jacobskerk is open for visits in the morning, but the day I would visit the Church, there was a funeral service from the Church, which was closed for visits.
