Ghent City Center, Ghent

(4.8/5 based on 2,800+ reviews on the web)
Guildhalls along a small canal make Ghent City Center a favorite stopping place for tourists. The city isn't included in many guided tours of Belgium and maintains the feel of a local, undiscovered destination. In the center you have your choice of restaurants and bars with views of stunning architecture and the river. Tour at your leisure the central Belfort en Lakenhalle, or the "Belfry and Cloth Hall," as well as the cathedral where Charles V was baptized. Consider a walking tour through the narrow streets and across the canal bridges to gain a fuller appreciation of this historic center. • Ghent is much more than a college destination. The city of las Tres Torres is a gem, well preserved and with much social life. There are many activities in the street, many shops not only for tourists. Essential if you visit Belgium!
