  • The station is big and busy but not super crowded. The signage is pretty clear, even for an English speaker like me.  more »
  • Station as a landmark year for 1913 Ghent landmark. It's no joke-the city understood the World Expo becoming, thus, temporary showcase of Belgium! The "postcard" view of the old town, the much-loved by tourists (deservedly!) is largely a consequence of the world exhibitions. Yes, this event was the impetus for the massive restoration of monuments of history. Well, the new gate of the exhibition and the entire city has become a new Sint-Pieters train station, outdoor already in 1912 to replace the old station Gent-South (not preserved), which was very uncomfortable, because it was a dead-end, and therefore passing trains have spent too much time on the "u-turn". The new station became a hallmark of Belgium. Its rooms are decorated with frescoes (more precisely, sgrafitto), depicting the most important cities of the country. Architect Louis Cloquet built a station in the fashionable then electric style (although generally eclecticism is not exactly an independent style, blending different styles). Station architecture evokes associations with both the European middle ages, and with something Oriental, Moorish. Recently, elements of the station, including historically frescoes were restored. Station as transport infrastructure object in functional terms in Sint-Pieters-ordinary Belgian station. Currently (year 2018), a renovation of the station, causing inconvenience. There is a toilet (for a fee), a few establishments catering (level of fast food and coffee shops, not the restaurant), toilet (with additional charge), luggage storage. Directly in front of the station convenient for trams to the city centre and buses (for tourists is not so important). The main drawback of station location. The historic centre a couple of kilometers.

  • An easy station to get to from Brussels. Nice architecture. It is a must to visit and look up at the main station entrance.  more »

  • It's a nice place. I love this place because everything is perfect here.
  • Used to be a good price for all the students in the neighborhood. It's not a good location for any one else
  • Little or no delays on bus schedules
  • Quite cheap
  • Tidy car park. Difficult to find a parking space. Too little signs for pedestrians and to the exit. No indication to the POS terminal. Required to have a parcourt to follow. Chaotic.
