The Eau d'Heure lakes is a complex of five artificial lakes, forming the largest lake area in Belgium. The dams were built during the 1970s. The lakes are not far from the village of Cerfontaine, 50km south of the city of Charleroi, and the border with France. They are within the municipalities of Cerfontaine and Froidchapelle .The primary river feeding the lakes is the Eau d'Heure. There are five dams and one hydro-electric power station. The largest lake, the Lac de la Plate Taille, is itself the largest single lake in the country, at 3.74km2, while together the lakes have a surface area of 6.17km2.It is a popular tourist attraction, with water sports, including fishing, kayaking, diving and windsurfing. The five lakes are: Lac de l'Eau d'Heure, the central lake of the complex Lac de Falemprise, a medium-sized lake to the south-east Lac de Féronval, a small lake at the north end of Lac de l'Eau d'Heure Lac de la Plate Taille, the largest lake at 3.74km2, at the south-west of the group Lac du Ry Jaune, a small lake on the east sideMake Eau d'Heure lakes a centerpiece of your Froidchapelle vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Froidchapelle trip maker website .

Bit of a shame. No sorry, unfortunately. Though just pay for a sandwich, €9 and €2.60 for a bottle of soda. Best pricey for what you get. And that entourage is also a little linger in the years 90, including dust on all cabinets and shelves. Step 2: the tour. 1 hour and 15 min for €7.50 pp. Interesting story of the guide in French and NL. Though fairly large group so the guide was in the back sometimes does not understand. Via ' corridors ' of visitors center to run reservoir, underground. After engine room tour (had hoped really there on the spot, but was behind glass), to 100 m height and vantage point on via walkway back to visitor center. If you're in the area certainly nice to snag. For the children also with bus/boat combinations and laser tag.
