The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps motor-racing circuit is the venue of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix, and of the Spa 24 Hours and 1000 km Spa endurance races. It is also home to the all Volkswagen club event, 25 Hours of Spa, run by the Uniroyal Fun Cup. It is one of the most challenging race tracks in the world, mainly due to its fast, hilly and twisty nature. Spa is a favourite circuit of many racing drivers and fans.Despite its name, the circuit is not in Spa but lies in the vicinity of the town of Francorchamps within the boundaries of the municipality of Stavelot, with a part in the boundaries of Malmedy. The trackThe triangleDesigned in 1920 by Jules de Thier and Henri Langlois Van Ophem, the original triangle-shaped course used public roads between the Belgian towns of Francorchamps, Malmedy, and Stavelot. The track was intended to have hosted its inaugural race in August 1921, however this event had to be cancelled as there was only one entrant. The first car race was held at the circuit in 1922, and two years later saw the first running of the now famous 24 Hours of Francorchamps race. The circuit was first used for Grand Prix racing in 1925.

A long (7 km) circuit in the beautiful Belgian Ardennes. A beautiful backdrop for F1. The infrastructure could use some more sense during the race weekend.

It was 30 years since I was last here with my father. Now I went back with my son and father. The circuit is actually unchanged. That made the visit fantastic. Everything is old and cooked around the circuit but that does not matter, the atmosphere is great. You can walk around around the circuit and on many beautiful places to sit down in the grass. It is pretty hilly so you have almost always good visibility. Except behind the fences, that takes away be sight. We have seen many campers with tents, also seems to me a fun experience. Certainly because there is much to do in the evening. There was a live DJ and drink. Definitely worth a visit! Tip, take a paddock pass. You can then at the pits come close and see cars up close.

The tour was fun! The guide told us passionately about the circuit. I'm not a race fanatic at all but I also found it very interesting and fun. The tour takes about 1,5 h around the circuit. Our kids ...  more »

Beautiful race track with free entrance at certain events. We went during the International GT Open and came in via Rivage (near turn 7). This is the highest point of the track, allowing you to see a large part of the circuit. From there, it's only a 26-minute walk to the first stand, while walking right next to the race track the entire time. You can buy drinks/food halfway through this walk (2,5€ for a 20cc beverage, 4€ for a hot dog).

An amazing track to be on. Watching one of the free ticket races here right now, was on the trackday a couple days back. Facilities are good all around, track condition is fantastic and abides by F1 standards. Just bring hood weather!

By far my favourite race track in the world. Watched F1 here for 8 years and would love to return one day to drive it.
