  • On the way between Brussels and Luxembourg, it pays to leave the main road to meet this Abbey. It was destroyed in a French invasion and the Trappist monks began to sell beer and cheese produced by them to rebuild the monastery. The only possible ride is feathers ruins of the former monastery and the Museum. There is no access to the new Abbey or the brewery, which is one of the 7 Trappists of Belgium. Beer dispensing comments. Is sensational! Enjoy.

  • We visited the site of the Abbey of Orval, there also enjoyed the excellent beer and bought, allowing us to rethink this beautiful moment

  • Granted-I drove primarily for the monastery to see the spot where "beer" will be created. However, I was aware that you can not come in and see the brewery (it is clear from the website). That is why I had that other "make do" with the ruins of the ancient monastery and the old church. However, it was very exciting – And there was also a small video presentation of how the beer will be brewed!

  • Fantastic photo opportunities, but stupid people who constantly walk into your photographs!
  • Architecturally this place is a magnificent sight between the soft hills of the Belgian Ardennes. Be sure to visit the museum and shop where you can buy several products including the revered Orval Trappist beer!
  • Beautiful abbey. Great beer and cheeses. After a nice long walk, go drink an Orval, then join the monks at 8 pm for their last preyers of the day.
  • Great place to have some peace and quiet. Very beautiful too.
  • A must seen, when you travel this part of the country.
