I had more visited the Museum long before the extension work. They fit really well at all and expand all the spaces. The permanent collections covering the two and a half centuries of existence of the photo are interesting in itself. both documents selected material showed, they show intaglio, the scope of the topic, so everyone can add his references, her favorites, her own baggage. They open a lot of horizons. Temporary exhibitions each time renewed, are still open to other universes. I have to admit that this time, the expo dedicated to Pierre Bartier showed me the trivial world of the Picha Sidekick (tendentious Guide of Brussels) without convince me beyond measure. the photos of the American Harry Callahan, do in Aix en Provence end ' 50 years are formally very beautiful, and disembodied at the same time. "by postal votes" puzzled me, were it my little darlings Plonk and Replonk: what the hell is there significantly interest to see these cards - seen holiday not true humorous lag? Finally, "slightly delayed" will be allowed to go back to the years RTB with the speakers (Hello, Bérangère, Sylvie, Arlette, Monique...) and its programs that call nostalgia, visa for the world to the garden extraordinary. The soundscape of the time generic, effect of madeleines on the taste buds of the memory. A beautiful Museum, lovely staff, and (almost) as much diversity of Belgian cheeses. Before make you the antenna: it is unfortunately well in Wallonia: why the city of Charleroi would think inappropriate to empty the trash in front of the Museum? It is conceptual, these cans and those bold papers in front of one of the most imaginative museums of the region?

In the Museum: several interesting to visit sections. First permanent collection very rich and well highlighted according to museum standards latest. Then the collection of cameras from all eras will seduce even the younger visitors (very rich collection, because the collection of departure already had 600 aircraft). Finally, according to the seasons, they organize temporary exhibitions on very different artists. The visit, which took several hours is a must for tourists visiting the region of Charleroi.

Grey Sunday... What do we do? We decided to go to the Museum of photography. On-site, we have seen that the entry was free on 1st Sunday of the month. Nice when you want to do sth with family at a lower price. And besides, the Museum worth it. It is really very rich. And there are often very interesting temporary exhibitions.

The biggest and best photography museum in Belgium. You get to see everything from early photos but also the technical part of how it all started. Don't let yourself misled by the bad reviews. Those people don't know what a museum is.

What I liked: the conversion of the scene: having known the public part of the monastery, I've been impressed by the brightness and the reallocation. Free the Museum the first Sunday of the month, off temporary exhibition. The presence of the park that completes the visit. The visit allows to alternate materials and photos, it is pleasant but lacks structure for my taste. What I liked least: the temporary exhibition or rather the artist, not too my vision of photography.
