  • Beautiful museum that takes back us to the years 50-60 of Charleroi. The Museum is not the tragedy but the work that the miners are doing. The buildings are renovated but the mining past is always present.

  • The Cazier's wood, is the tribute to miners killed in the disaster of 1956. The buildings are beautifully restored and each visitor can understand how worked a Colliery of the years 50 - 60 and understand what was this disaster. Fortunately, this is not only a place of tragedy. It is also a complete overview of the history of Wallonia, which was once one of the more industrial and more prosperous world regions. Found on the site enough to spend a day without getting bored: buildings related to the operation of the mine and to the understanding of the disaster, but also the Museum of Walloon industry, the glass museum and the workshops with forges. Beautiful walks on nearby terrils are also possible. And lunch, a restaurant serves a great lunch. In short, an exceptional site to visit alone or with family, on which come back regularly for temporary exhibitions.
