Where to stay in Brussels

It's easy to find accommodations in Brussels for nearly any budget. Tourists generally gravitate to the area surrounding Grand-Place, the city's main square. Also consider staying near Stephanie Square Centre and Boulevard de Waterloo, which are both centrally located. As Europe's unofficial capital, the city boasts a wealth of high-end hotels for visiting diplomats, concentrated along glitzy Avenue Louise. Those looking for a low-budget option will find a host of hostels scattered around the Grand-Place and within walking distance to the city's main attractions.

  • A beautiful palace with botanical gardens that only open once a year. Worth a wander if you like flowers/gardens, although there is something rather bizarre about the whole experience.  more »
  • It's my second time and I still get surprised at the beauty of the place. Around end of April and only for a few weeks a part of the royal greenhouse can be visited. A must see.  more »

  • Only open a few weeks every year. But it's worth the effort! It's large, it's only €2,5 and you get to see special flowers and enjoy their smells.
  • The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are definitely worth a visit (in the three weeks a year they are open for visitors). The architecture of the greenhouses is beautiful and it's a real experience to walk between the magnificent flowers.
  • really nice, though you should be there atleast 30 minutes before opening if you want to avoid the lines and have parking. Its the actual royal palace not a full time tourist attraction, so consider yourself lucky if you are in the country during its three weeks of opening. Truly something you can not see anywhere else.
  • The greenhouses are open only for 3 weeks in the year, but the best I have ever seen. April/May
  • Well maintained plants , collected from all over the world. Really long queues.
