Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and of Military History, Brussels

4.3
#3 of 91 in Museums in Brussels
Located in Cinquantenaire Park, Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and of Military History houses aircraft, weaponry, uniforms, and vehicles from all the nations that participated in World Wars I and II. Tightly packed into two halls in the park's northern complex, the exhibits are dense and visually stimulating. Consider combining your visit to museum with a trip to the park. The hall where the artifacts are housed was meant to be temporary, but expanded to a permanent space with a domed, glass roof that is easy to spot from most areas in the park. • To start do not have forgotten his CB because it is the only accepted payment method (damage). Admission is € 5, cheap for a museum like this. Beautiful material to see, the aviation section is impressive. We arrived current afternoon but could not complete the tour, the guards push us out 15 minutes before closing. Too bad...

  • I enjoy going to military museums all over the world and this one is pretty good. If you do not speak French and Dutch be advised that a lot of the exhibits are not captioned in English. Also currentl...  more »
  • It is an exhibition on the war before the war and after the war. This expo is also useful for adolescents.

  • Great place to see all of humanity's war machine on display. From costumes, to misc items, to weapons, machinery, techonology and even life-sized planes, it's all here. Amazingly educational and somewhat harrowing experience. Prepare for some 'heavy' feels. Totally worth the 5 euros entry fee for adults. You can even take in a panorama view of Brussels!
  • Had a great few hours here, sadly too short. Great views of the city from the roof top platform & worth the entry price for that alone. Museum split into two section & worth a visit. Only slight disappointment was the cafe closing an hour early, with out notice so I was unable to get a drink.
  • Pretty decent collection, but there were no audio guides available. Would have loved to learn more about the exhibits bit not much English text available. The Air Museum is probably the highlight and it includes many historic aircraft types as well as a full size airline jet!
  • Best place to visit. Very Informative if you love to know about history.very well maintained. It takes time to roam inside so better plan in advance. Spare enough time.
  • Value for money. Gets a view of the city and at the same time an amazing collection of weapons from medieval times to modern times. Strongly recommended.
