Parc du Cinquantenaire, Brussels

(1,300+ reviews on the web)
Nature / Park
Stroll the promenades of a grand urban park at Parc du Cinquantenaire, home of the Arc du Cinquantenaire. The 19th century saw the addition of the triumphal arch for Belgium's 50th anniversary as an independent nation. Three museums occupy the northern part of the park: the Royal Military Museum, Autoworld, and the Cinquantenaire Museum. A 19th-century monument called the Temple of Human Passions and a Great Mosque take up the northwest corner of the park. The buildings at the corners of the park complement the arch's neoclassical grandeur with their domes and rotundas, and the center is dominated by an esplanade where you can walk through the landscaped greenery. Use our Brussels travel itinerary maker to add Parc du Cinquantenaire and other attractions to your Brussels vacation plans.

  • Large beautiful park with basketball and volleyball courts, walking paths and many quiet alcoves to sit in. We walked here from the Parlimentarium and it took 10-15 minutes.  more »
  • A beautiful work of architecture...take an afternoon stroll through this park and stop and smell the roses along the paths leading up to the Arches of the Cinquantenaire. A must photograph opportunity...  more »
  • Pretty awesome, particularly the small tower and the Brandenberg gate structure at one end. Lovely place to simply go for a wonder. Some museums nearby as well.  more »

  • It's great for adults to just sit and catch up. The toddler section is quite small but it has a soccer field. Great for a run
  • One of favourite parks in Brussels. It is only a pity that there is an open air car tunnel in the middle. I could do without the car noise...
  • Of all of Belgium's parks, this one is definitely the biggest and the boldest. The walk is worth it if you love looking at old turquoise statues of horses and kings, but other than there isn't much to see that will make you go wow. Although, Autoworld was pretty cool.
  • One of the best parks in Brussels, also because of its central location. Big enough and has a nice ambience for running, picnic or just hanging around. Plus, there are several museums and occasionally concerts are organized here.
  • Nice park, one of the places to see if you are on the city during some few days.. Hopefully with a nice weather, of course! :)
