Parc du Cinquantenaire, Brussels
(4.4/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
Stroll the promenades of a grand urban park at Parc du Cinquantenaire, home of the Arc du Cinquantenaire. The 19th century saw the addition of the triumphal arch for Belgium's 50th anniversary as an independent nation. Three museums occupy the northern part of the park: the Royal Military Museum, Autoworld, and the Cinquantenaire Museum. A 19th-century monument called the Temple of Human Passions and a Great Mosque take up the northwest corner of the park. The buildings at the corners of the park complement the arch's neoclassical grandeur with their domes and rotundas, and the center is dominated by an esplanade where you can walk through the landscaped greenery. • Stay out of the hustle and bustle of a European capital and a great park to relax in a quiet environment. Magnificent architecture the entrance door. We went for lush, flowering in the winter time, we worry about the way it was.

  • The place is large extensions, is obligatory to visit museums of weapons and the car, has a large arch in memory of soldiers fallen in different wars.

  • A lovely, but not huge, green space in the city with fantastic museums to visit, benches to sit back and enjoy a waffle to eat on and invading parakeets flitting in the tree's above.

  • One of the best places to enjoy the sun in Belgium. You can run, relax on the grass or have a drink with your friends. The park is quite big and in the middle you have some museums to enjoy (best to check opening hours beforehand).
  • Grandiose park ! Full of lush greenery, everybody love to play here - including cats and dogs :)
  • Where: Parc du Cinquantenaire - Brussels What: A part consisting of many attractions How was it: It was nice. We came in thinking we would find the Planetarium and mini Europe, but then quickly figured out we were in the wrong part of the city. But we strolled thought the park anyways and enjoyed what we saw. We passed in front of the grand Triumphal Arch and the Autoworld. So we never ended up seeing the Mini Europe and Planetarium but we enjoyed the park visit. Grade: Eli = 4, Serge = 4 Recommend: Yeah, it's worth seeing on a beautiful sunny day.
  • Solemn and classy park which pictures quite well Belgian glorious past under the reign of Leopold II. Symmetric and airy spaces set a royal atmosphere.
  • This is THE park of Brussels! park perfect for a walk on a beautiful day in spring or summer. Here you can find all over the city when the sun comes out and begins to get hot! No shortage kiosks selling drinks and slush for a gourmet break! To show it quietly it takes at least two hours! @gargio76
