Parc du Cinquantenaire, Brussels

4.3
Stroll the promenades of a grand urban park at Parc du Cinquantenaire, home of the Arc du Cinquantenaire. The 19th century saw the addition of the triumphal arch for Belgium's 50th anniversary as an independent nation. Three museums occupy the northern part of the park: the Royal Military Museum, Autoworld, and the Cinquantenaire Museum. A 19th-century monument called the Temple of Human Passions and a Great Mosque take up the northwest corner of the park. The buildings at the corners of the park complement the arch's neoclassical grandeur with their domes and rotundas, and the center is dominated by an esplanade where you can walk through the landscaped greenery. • Definitely a magnificent and historical Park. But the monuments needs to be maintained well. The garden behind is worth spending atleast an hour.  more »
  • To celebrate Billy's unique 50 anniversary, the park is large and there are two main buildings. In the morning, I met the spray pool in the water, but I didn't see it after all. The other side of the arch is also a great design.
