Parc du Cinquantenaire, Brussels

Categories: Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web
Stroll the promenades of a grand urban park at Parc du Cinquantenaire, home of the Arc du Cinquantenaire. The 19th century saw the addition of the triumphal arch for Belgium's 50th anniversary as an independent nation. Three museums occupy the northern part of the park: the Royal Military Museum, Autoworld, and the Cinquantenaire Museum. A 19th-century monument called the Temple of Human Passions and a Great Mosque take up the northwest corner of the park. The buildings at the corners of the park complement the arch's neoclassical grandeur with their domes and rotundas, and the center is dominated by an esplanade where you can walk through the landscaped greenery. • An arc with 3 arches which must be equal in height the arc of Paris or Berlin.Il door sits in a neighborhood where not only greenery is plentiful but also museums and attractions. A well-preserved architectural masterpiece.

  • I still need some more hours looking at all paintings and statues, but the park is really nice, with lots of green grass to play and/or rest.
  • I often go there to run and train It's a large and nice place with a lot of sport installations During the year many activities and events are organized You should definitely check out this place at least once
  • Nice and big park with many places to lay and relax. During summer weekends this is a venue for various events, as well as an open air 'art gallery'
  • Went to see some museum, great place really nice, great view!!
  • Good place to have a run or a walk and relax. Less busy and much more open space than in the rest of the city. Nearby the European institutions.
