Parc de Bruxelles, Brussels

3.8
#5 of 31 in Parks in Brussels
Wander among trees, fountains, and statuary, and admire the buildings bordering Parc de Bruxelles, the largest urban park in Brussels. The neoclassical park touts manicured lawns and flowerbeds dotted with sculpted bushes and elegant fountains. It was once part of the gardens for the original Coudenberg palace in the 18th century. Nowadays the Royal Palace of Brussels, the parliament, and the United States Embassy mark the boundaries of the park, along with a large fence and fragrant rows of lime trees. Statues throughout the park pay tribute to international figures, such as Peter the Great and a slew of Roman emperors and mythical characters. You'll find the park's main entrance on the northern side across from the parliament building. With our international travel planner, Brussels attractions like Parc de Bruxelles can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Nice Park to cross during the visit of the city, very relaxing to go through after a good walk

  • It is a haven of peace in the middle of the city. For enthusiasts, the Park of the 18th century, offers a fun game of alchemical and Masonic track...

  • As I understand it the Belgians not so keen on the Green: parks are dried stranamenti, scurries up the sand, the plants and flowers are not maintained and are often dirty. In short, the potential is there, but are not developed. I visited exceptional parks in Mediterranean countries where it hasn't rained for months and don't really have money to maintain them, so these here Belgians I was very disappointed.

  • The royal park, overlooking the king's palace. Perfect for jogging or just a relaxing walk through the many paths with plenty of trees that provide nice shadow and cover.
  • This is a fairly large park with lots of places to sit. It was nice and shady (on an otherwise hot day) when I visited. It didn't feel spectacular, but was very pleasant and seemed like a nice place to relax.
  • Nice park. Lots of trees and grass. The car museum is nearby. Parking is free. Close to the European Commission.
  • Nice small park within the city. Good for a quick run if you live nearby. Often events during spring - summer.
  • A place to stroll when the good weather is there.

Where to stay in Brussels

It's easy to find accommodations in Brussels for nearly any budget. Tourists generally gravitate to the area surrounding Grand-Place, the city's main square. Also consider staying near Stephanie Square Centre and Boulevard de Waterloo, which are both centrally located. As Europe's unofficial capital, the city boasts a wealth of high-end hotels for visiting diplomats, concentrated along glitzy Avenue Louise. Those looking for a low-budget option will find a host of hostels scattered around the Grand-Place and within walking distance to the city's main attractions.
