Discover how the capital city became what it is today at Museum of the City of Brussels (Musee de la Ville de Bruxelles). The museum showcases a scale model of Brussels in the Middle Ages and a whole host of artifacts specific to the city, including items used by all types of people, from craftsmen to aristocrats. You'll recognize the building by the ornate statuary and relief carvings that distinguish it in the Grand Place, the large square in the city center. Don't miss the display of 750 costumes for the city's iconic Mannequin Pis, the famous urinating fountain. • Located on the north side of the big Square, the city Museum of Brooklyn is the second largest building on the field. This building was built by the Duke of Brabant in the 16 century, the façade is called, with the city hall, there is a complex of the spire, carving fine columns, mountain walls, windows 櫺, bars, the whole wall has no one to leave white. The museum is facing the Southwest, the afternoon is smooth, the night is more beautiful after the light.

  • Although on this holiday I didn't make time to check out Museum Of The City Of Brussels I have been here on numerous occasions over the years and it's a fun museum to visit. You can view the original ...  more »

  • There is no unifying theme or organization to this museum. It is in a beautiful and historic building, but the artifacts don't measure up to the space they are in. There is a hodge-podge of items. There is a uninformative display of Leopold I, with nothing of substance indicated, and a little further along are glass display domes with stuffed bats. How are they related? The placards are in French and German(?) and no English, but an app can be downloaded to explain what you are seeing. The app, however, is not synchronized to the displays. Some are explained and others aren't. There are several numbers on displays, bit they don't match. The app. On the plus side, there is a free coat rack and lockers are only one EUR, which you get back when you are done. I wish I had not wasted my time on this museum.
  • I visited this museum mainly for architectural interest. Looking this Gothic Revival, "Maison du Roi" from inside is very interesting. The windows, shutters and construction of the roof is impressive. Although it's contents is rather mediocre as a museum, still it is worth visiting, if you are interested in interiors / architecture.
  • Lack of information in English is very surprising. Add English caption! It's a very nice place to see though, the part on Manneken Pis was very cool.
  • Very interesting museum of Brussels. Original statue of Manneken Pis on display. Recommended.
  • As city museums throughout Europe tend to be very interesting, this was the first museum to drop in, when we were in Brussels. And it's really great, too. You can learn very much about Brussels' history and the circumstances of people's lives in the older periods. Until March 11th there is also an exhibition about Baudelaire's time in Brussels. And finally the Brodhuis or Maison du Roi itself is worth seeing, although it's not the original building, but was rebuilt in the late 19th century.
