  • In a Word, you could say: this is a private collection, not a State Museum. And it seemed. Yes, everything is exposed in a House, and there is not always a lot of room to highlight each of the objects. Yes, the collection is uneven: many ivory, many Asian parts, less than the rest. Yes, there are mismatched pieces in the same windows as more complete collections. Of course. Remains there under my eyes the very impressive collection, that a lifetime served to bring together: more than 600 objects, all authentic, periods and places, of the pommel of door of French brothel of the 19th to the Venus in wood from Africa, the ancient Greek vase to Japanese engravings, through the English top engraved... All presented with taste and consistency, leaflets are available in three languages on each floor to locate each of the objects, and if you're lucky, some may be presented to you by the collector himself. Everything is not exposed, and the floor that receives visitors also serves as a temporary exhibition of images and engravings that run throughout the year. The tour takes about 1 h 15/30, for €10. It's too expensive? Perhaps. But for enthusiasts, this unique collection, exposed, on the mode of the cabinet of curiosities, in a dwelling house that gives you the feeling of being a voyeur in the home of someone else, worth a visit.
