  • Huge museum. Best do you do one visit per room/theme. Would you like to see all at once then you put quick 2 days left. Some rooms are beautifully renovated, others seem what oudbolliger. When I was there, one was next to the halls refresh (and so not accessible): art-nouveau, one wing of the Egyptian Hall, one wing of the antiquity, Oceania, Philippines, Easter Island, and perhaps even some other. There is always a temporary exhibition (= extra). During the afternoon of the 1st Wednesday of the month is the admission to the permanent collection free. You can also do a tour along the main museum pieces (indicated by a yellow logo with ' must ' on). So there are a 100-tal. The portion to the right of the entrance is about Belgian history from prehistoric times to the renaissance. To the left there is a division of baroque to art-nouveau (entrance at the museum shop). Verderdoor the non-European civilizations.

Where to stay in Brussels

It's easy to find accommodations in Brussels for nearly any budget. Tourists generally gravitate to the area surrounding Grand-Place, the city's main square. Also consider staying near Stephanie Square Centre and Boulevard de Waterloo, which are both centrally located. As Europe's unofficial capital, the city boasts a wealth of high-end hotels for visiting diplomats, concentrated along glitzy Avenue Louise. Those looking for a low-budget option will find a host of hostels scattered around the Grand-Place and within walking distance to the city's main attractions.
