  • This is a huge Museum with a part of permanent collections as well as a second part of temporary exhibitions. Thoroughly explore the entire Museum, it would take probably several days. It's worth but on a morning to visit rooms 2-3. Very interesting the Hall, which recreates the lives of Indians and Eskimos in Canada and the United States. Impressive the column wall from Palmira and some mosaics in the Roman Department. Most of Islamic art Hall I liked, where you can see carpets, ceramic objects and documents written with an enormous artificial value. If you can admire these beautiful Islamic culture, it must be remembered automatically that the creators of this art would be condemned and destroyed their works today by the crazy, wild jihadists to death.

  • The Cinquantenaire Museum is located to the East of the old town of the city of Brussels and the colossal European Parliament in the southeast corner of the Parc du Cinquantenaire (Flemish: Jubelpark). Leopold II (1865-1909) ordered the construction of a triumphal arch and a series of complex ornamented inside the Park to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the independence of Belgium. Although he was remembered mostly by its imperialist in Congo policies and massive urban renewal projects, Leopold II also sent archaeologists and Belgian researchers around the world to study and document the extent of human history. This explains why the Museum of the

  • One Sunday visiting the Cinquantenaire Museum in Brussels where we visited in addition to a special exhibition in the museum itself. Very large with many sections. From everything about the European culture to that of other continents. It takes a long time to visit well everything with the risk that, in the end, there can be a little tiring. Some halls are still with an exposure would say "old fashioned", while other sections, such as those dedicated to the cultures of the Americas, offer a visit. Very interesting also the part dedicated to the culture of Muslim countries. Overall definitely a museum which is well worth a visit.

  • Great collection ! Really huge so plan well ; The tapestries collection is the largest and grandest i have every seen ! Do not miss the food at the restaurant inside the museum !
  • I can’t believe I have not been to this museum before now.. seriously, this is a “secret” place of Brussels! I have been raised here for the last 25 years and I had no idea such a beautiful museum existed. It is a small “Belgian Louvre” full of unique and amazing piece of antique to modern art. I really advise everyone to go! We spent a few hours in it and we only have seen ⅓ of the whole permanent collection (plan a good afternoon or a day to see the whole museum comfortably).
  • One of the greatest museums in Belgium but so often forgotten: Greek & Roman art, silver, furniture, sclentufic instruments, south American art and so much more...
  • This has primarily 2 wings - one which is more art oriented and another which is more historically oriented, in multiple levels. It needs a whole day to explore. I just had a peek at India section which has samples of Chola bronzes, Gandhara sculptures and a few more.
  • Very interesting museum with good pieces of every interesting parts of the world. Not the most complete museum (compared to Le Louvres or the British Museum) but with excellent pieces and enough to revive your passion for Art and Beauty.
