  • One Sunday visiting the Cinquantenaire Museum in Brussels where we visited in addition to a special exhibition in the museum itself. Very large with many sections. From everything about the European culture to that of other continents. It takes a long time to visit well everything with the risk that, in the end, there can be a little tiring. Some halls are still with an exposure would say "old fashioned", while other sections, such as those dedicated to the cultures of the Americas, offer a visit. Very interesting also the part dedicated to the culture of Muslim countries. Overall definitely a museum which is well worth a visit.

  • We particularly appreciate the Egyptian section of the Museum, which is under renovation (perpetual); We also appreciate the temporary exhibitions which are always a great success, very good quality by addition (Sarcophagi, Oceana etc...) After the visit or the conference, we will not fail to restore us to the noon fifty good quality for the price. One of the best-loved Egyptological libraries in the world (after the British Museum, the Louvre, Leiden and the Metropolitan in New York). Attendance by appointment, unfortunately...

  • The Museum of art and history is part of the museums where I love to lose me... after the temporary Wolfers expo where we could especially to discover the work of Horta at the windows level we walked in adjoining rooms which of very beautiful rooms containing the tapestries and the altarpieces. If you go there with children, (not too small children huh :-)) will see the altarpiece of St George.) We discover all the ways to torture during the middle ages... And as we were stuffed when leaving we went through the auto-world.

  • I can’t believe I have not been to this museum before now.. seriously, this is a “secret” place of Brussels! I have been raised here for the last 25 years and I had no idea such a beautiful museum existed. It is a small “Belgian Louvre” full of unique and amazing piece of antique to modern art. I really advise everyone to go! We spent a few hours in it and we only have seen ⅓ of the whole permanent collection (plan a good afternoon or a day to see the whole museum comfortably).
  • Very interesting museum with good pieces of every interesting parts of the world. Not the most complete museum (compared to Le Louvres or the British Museum) but with excellent pieces and enough to revive your passion for Art and Beauty.
  • The museum is very old and dated. It is also unusually warm in all the exhibits. Not sure how that affects all the pieces on display. I question some of the displays like a preserved body sitting upright in a glass display. Seems a bit much and maybe even disrespectful. The museum is nice but not a must go.
  • Cinquantenaire Museum is located Cinquantenaire park together with the Military museum and Autoworld, so there is no need to leave the area especially if you are staying locally. The museum is one of the biggest in Belgium and will take you through the archaeology of early European civilisations and antiquity through to European decorative art including artefacts such as furniture, silver and glassware. They also have a collection of artefacts from rest of the world including the Far East and native American textiles and totems. They have a good restaurant with reasonable prices and a good selection of food and drinks, and the gift shop very big and has something for everyone.
  • Absolutely stunning content, including Mesopotamian and Egyptian artifacts, medieval tapestries, old mechanisms and many more. Might not be as well kept, though, and the floor plans can be confusing. Reserve a lot of time for a visit.
