Art Museum
Declared a National Heritage Site in 2001, Musee David et Alice van Buuren showcases an impressive collection of over five centuries of art housed within an Art Deco house. Wander the rooms filled with both masterpieces and lesser-known works by Vincent van Gogh, James Ensor, Pieter Jansz Saenredam, Rik Wouters, and many others. David van Buuren was the patron of the Belgian artist Gustave van de Woestijne, who showed his gratitude by contributing to the couple's collection. Almost every piece of decor and furniture have been designed by Belgian and Dutch artisans--note the carpets in the living room designed by Jaap Gidding, and a 500 kg (1,100 lb) chandelier by Jan Eisenloeffel. Don't miss the landscaped gardens with their hedges, trees, and walkways--works of art in and of themselves. You can reach the attraction by exiting the tram at Churchill in the Uccle District. The museum operates on a limited schedule, check for opening times before you arrive. Put Musee David et Alice van Buuren and other Brussels attractions into our Brussels family vacation planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • The garden is beautiful, especially the maze and the "Secret Heart's". The House is preserved in its state of the 1930s, visit very interesting.

  • Magnificent, wonderful this villa where everything has been designed and created to fit within the project of life of Mr and Mrs van Bureen. Life at home as part of a path. All the furniture and decorations designed as single pieces to further enhance the environments through the large Windows overlooking the garden. Having the ability to move through the triple saloon where they spent entire evenings Magritte or Sartre, could find itself facing the splendid grand piano belonged to Eric Satie, can be found in every detail the pursuit of beauty, character and personality of this couple was an exciting experience. Lovely, there are other definitions. Wonderful video that shows to those who decide to undertake the visit. A real work of art able to inform, entertain and move without even using the words. You can visit is just the home that only the garden. For a few euros don't make the unforgivable mistake of choosing one or the other, are also integral components and integrated. Thank you! I was really happy about this visit gorgeous!

  • Amazing house museum. The story about the owners is very interesting, and the ladies in charge are charming. Volunteers who preserve the legacy.
