Hôtel de Ville de Bruxelles, Brussels
(4.8/5 based on 1,900+ reviews on the web)
The main seat of city administration since the Middle Ages, Hôtel de Ville de Bruxelles may be the first thing to draw your eye in the Market Place. The central tower was restored in the early 1990s, and the exterior is a series of detailed reliefs and sculptures dating back to the 15th century. The exterior is the most impressive part of the building, but a tour through some of the inside rooms doesn't disappoint. Begin your tour in a reception hall, which is free to enter, but a small fee gets you access to the rest of the exhibits. The fee includes a tour guide, and you only need to book 15 minutes in advance. Tours are in Dutch, French, and English daily, but each language is given at a specific time of day, so check the attraction's website for specific times. The building is still the seat of the Brussels mayor, so some rooms are closed to the public. • Took the tour of the city hall on Sunday (only runs once or twice a week), and it was a highlight of our trip. The rooms inside are stunning and the tour guide is extremely knowledgeable and provides ...  more »
  • Iconic building still in use today. Tours take place only on certain days, but still worth visiting to look at the architecture
  • Short walk from the central station with many cafes and treats along the way. Best Belgium chocolates in Les Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert.

  • Extraordinary building of clear Gothic style, shining example of civil architecture of the region. Worthy representative of this extraordinary city! To be admired by day and by night, beautifully lit, strictly bevendosi a beer sitting on the ground, as dictated by local tradition. We organize internal tours on certain days of the week and at specific times, you have to get on site, just inside the courtyard. @gargio76
  • Iconic landmark of Brussels, don't forget to visit the incredibly rich content of the town hall
  • super palace, super place. best place in brussels ( and history museum)
  • Beautiful Building! The interior is lovely. Visited during the Flower Carpet festival and the second floor balcony gave us a great view
  • What a magnificent city hall. Even though it is not symmetrical, it's bigger on the left side, it is still one of the nicest city hall buildings in the world.
