Grand Place, Brussels

(24,000+ reviews on the web)
Historic Site Tourist Spot
The center of Brussels, Grand Place forms an imposing square of opulent buildings, including the city hall. Dating back to 1523, the city's main square was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1998. Take in the grand architecture of the guild halls, and take a tour of city hall. The square houses the Museum of the City of Brussels and the Brewers Museum, both of which give a good impression of the essence of Brussels. Despite its relatively small size, the square attracts more visitors than any other attraction in the European capital. Before you head to Brussels, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Brussels vacation builder, to make sure you see all that Brussels has to offer, including Grand Place.

  • The centre of action in Brussels with history to enjoy whilst taking a drink and food of many different kinds from breakfast to dinner in all weathers inside or out. Many events also take place here from jazz weekends to flower festivals. Also you get to meet many interesting people from around the world to pass the time over a beer or delicious hot chocolate.
  • Beautiful place. You should not miss while in Brussels. Very lively with well maintained historic structures around the square. All by lanes leading to the square have nice shops with fresh food, souvenirs, chocolates, toys, ice cream etc. Superb place.
  • Nice warm and welcoming atmosphere! The light shows in the summer evenings are nice. And the winter christmas market is also nice to visit.
  • Amazing 360 degree views of gold highlighted palace buildings. We could go inside but walking around the square was awe inspiring enough. Must see!
  • The center jewel of Brussels. I can never forget the feeling when i first arrived there. It was breathtaking. One should really visit it at night as well, especially in December where light shows & music rock the place!!!
