Experience the opulence of Eglise Notre Dame Du Sablon, which has long been a place of worship for the elite of Brussels and serves as a remarkable example of Brabantine Gothic architecture. The land was first consecrated when the Noble Serment of Crossbowmen, a local guild, decided to turn their exercise space into a modest chapel. However, this humble church was replaced in the 15th century, with an interior that was completed in the 17th century. The cathedral is covered in carved reliefs and ornate masonry, while the interior reflects the efforts of the wealthy families to bring the richness of daily life to the church service with gilded Baroque chapels. The fanciful wood carvings on the altar and pulpit are the work of a 19th-century artist, Auguste Schoy. After a church tour, sample some of the sweets from the surrounding chocolate shops. • The Church is pretty, Gothic, but she really has nothing special. Take a peek if you go there during a walk in the neighborhood of the Sablons, but not worth to go there specifically.

  • Beautiful, in a beautiful area, I think the best of Brussels. The stained glass Windows that can be seen from the inside are splendid. One feels the real Christianity of yore.

  • Was a great place to visit. But mind the birds and don't lean on anything outside because you will get bird poo on you.
  • I only saw it for the outside.. I dunno why it was closed down!
  • Superb Church of style Gothic, well restored, in the heart of the Sablon district, "the place to be"...

  • Other spectacular monument of Brussels. Worth the history of your name look for it. The day that visit, outside churros sold in a big yellow truck: was the national day and the crowning of the King. And more heat than in the South of Spain. Jozu

  • The beauty of stained glass is a must see! It seems to come without your homework to get away from the hustle and bustle of Brussels and the cold is most beautiful in Brussels flamboyant Gothic church. Because it is giving off light and high ceilings and stained glass Windows, very soothing.

  • A gem of Gothic bravantino, smaller than the Cathedral but a wonder also. Especially impressive on the outside, being its simpler interior (precious stained glass windows and beautiful pulpit). In the surroundings there are a nice garden where you can admire sitting is more than advisable to church.
