Bois de la Cambre and Foret de Soignes, Brussels

4.8
#2 of 16 in Parks in Brussels
Hike, bike, or picnic at Bois de la Cambre and Foret de Soignes, a garden that feels like a wild place thanks to the irregular placement of trees and bushes. The park resembles English gardens, but was designed by a German architect. A number of outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, and even pony rides allow you to tour the attraction in an active way. Or, you can simply bring along a blanket and lunch on the lawns. Along the walking trails you'll find some of the ruins of early Brussels, and it is not uncommon to run into a group of eager children learning about the great outdoors. The wood of la Cambre is a large park or you can stroll under a bright sun. It is possible to walk around the forest on foot or by bike. I went there during an event, so there is a lot of atmosphere. The small restaurant in the middle of the Lake is very nice, you must take a boat to get there. I highly recommend it for a nice quiet ride
