Create an itinerary including Belgian Comic Strip Center
Walk through the history of Tintin at the Belgian Comic Strip Center, which celebrates the art of the comic. The center is housed inside a former department store designed by Art Nouveau architect Victor Horta, whose great glass ceiling lets in enough natural light to illuminate the museum galleries. Exhibits showcase French, English, and Dutch comic art from its earliest days to the present. An extensive Tintin exhibit is the main attraction with the history of the artwork and its creator, and even life-size models of the characters. Browse copies of some of Europe's best-known comics and graphic novels in the reading room and library. A self-guided tour is the most popular way to explore the building and the exhibits, because information about each exhibit is available in multiple languages. PutBelgian Comic Strip Center into our Brussels day trip planning site and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Amazing museum, which superseded my expectations; apart the typical history of comics from the paleolithic to Yellow Kid and the various techniques, the icing on the cake was the Louvre exposition...

  • Comic strip museum. This museum offers a lot of exhibitions on the history and development of the comic strip, from earliest history to modern times. Unfortunately there's no audio guide, and I found the exhibitions a bit sparse. The place is huge, but a lot of it is empty space. The things that are there, are really well displayed, with a lot of nice photo ops. The Louvre exhibition is also quite well done.
  • Cool building! And very informative so I imagine it's a good one if you are into comics.
  • I don't really feel it is worth the value. 12€ per adult and it doesn't has much to see. No comics about tintin, very very little drawings about smurfs, very disappointing. Save your money and go grab a beer and fries, much better use for your money. PS : almost everything is in French, if you don't speak it, it's not easy for you.
  • Amazingly thorough exhibitions! I’ve never seen comic art so appreciated. Very cool to learn more about these artists and their work, very inspiring to me as an artist. Would be great for kids too. ! Needs seating areas in exhibitions!! Just a bench here and there to take a break. After several exhibitions my back and feet were aching from standing for so long and there was nowhere to sit. If it’s a problem for me as a young person think about how it is for older people!!
  • During the covid-19 we can at least visit this comics museum. Lovely place to visit with your children. Or if you are a fan of comics you can go alone...
