Immerse yourself in history at Historium Brugge, an experiential museum. An audio guide with a wide selection of languages brings you through the themed areas. The rooms represent different places in the city during different periods in time, from the Middle Ages to the city's golden age. Costumed interpreters, recreated shops, and domestic rooms all introduce you to the city's past. Visit a reconstructed old port and the painter Van Eyck in his studio. Some exhibits encourage visitors to interact with the story, while others ask you to enjoy the experience. A beer garden at the end of the tour is a great way to round out your visit. Using our custom trip planner, Bruges attractions like Historium Brugge can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • It is not bad, you can visit, but if it is not, nor is it lost much. It is better to go to the Duvelorium or the chocolate Museum...

  • Awesome interactive tour through the building, telling the stories of Belgium with a short story. Virtual Reality experience would also be recommended!
  • Brilliant fun and educational. Great audio tour. Ticket includes use of toilet!
  • The first half of the history tour is an extremely cheesy and lame movie where you walk between rooms for each scene. The acting and plot just make you want to cringe, and you learn nothing. After you get through the movie, you actually get to learn about the history of Bruges in a brief audio tour, and you get a wonderful balcony view of the market center. All in all not bad for 10€ but the movie part is just painful to watch.
  • An excellent exhibit showing what Brugge used to look like in medieval days. I think the museum is good value for money. The museum is separated into different 'sets; and you follow the story of a young apprentice. It's a clever way to take you back in time and if you keep your ticket, you are able to try out an experimental virtual reality set which is really good.
  • Best interactive museum I've ever seen! It really costs its money
