  • The early art on display here gives you a flavour of the style of early Flemish art. Entry to this museum also entitles you to entry to the Arentshuis.
  • Few works, but very nice. The surrealist paintings there were, I think, for maintenance of the Museum. The Bosch triptych has been moved in the adjoining Museum, accessible with the same ticket. Improved lighting and overall preparation

  • Only half the galleries were open (slightly reduced cost, which doesn't help if you've got a museum pass anyway), but they were very well set out and English translations of MOST the information.

  • It's worth visiting for the famous one by Van Eyck and several other early Renaissance paintings. But many other works from later generation were far behind in terms of artistic quality. I found the fine art museum in Ghent much better organized and collected than this one. The museum was using natural light coming from outside, which made the viewing sometimes difficult, which was really unfortunate (even for Van Eyck one, too bad). The people working in the museum watching the guests looked unprofessional since they were not dressed professionally and sometimes they stared at people strangely.
  • impressive collection with some very famous paintings. the most impressive ones are in the first few rooms. each room represents a specific painting style era
  • Good value for money with a range of artists and styles. Entry also gives you access to a neighbouring gallery.
  • Excellent small museum in Brugge. I must see when in Belgium. Great collection of Flemish Renaissance art.
  • Nice range of classic paintings from Brugge's high times
