  • This was the first and last time that I was in this supposedly best Chololaterie of Bruges. The chocolates taste all of them very similar, one misses the supposedly fine nuances. The operation could provide neither learned information, nor you hygienic has been distributing the goods in the box. Price it is cheap in comparison, but unfortunately the quality is not as good as always said... PS: Who wants to experience really unfriendly staff, should go there!

  • We took a train 2 1/2 hours to get to Brugges from Amsterdam. We were excited to go to Dumon to buy chocolates to bring home since they were recommended by Rick Steves. He needs to revise his book. Th...  more »
  • My God, j am still very shocked... when I saw this gentleman dressed in biker with all her rings on the fingers take chocolates with his fingers without gloves without anything, j thought it was a joke! Already he had not the d look a salesman but rather a biker! What a shame this lack d hygiene, but what a shame! It can s be scratching the buttocks or worse, the guy you used to bare hands, should not be messing around when even... s frankly not serious... very average chocolates and more and very fat and j struggled to eat when I thought of his hands...

  • A small shop to buy great Belgian chocolate. Was fortunate to meet a sweet lady who has been running the shop for over 21 years now and she is very proud and passionate about her choclates. Surely worth buying chocolates from this place.
  • As a big chocoholic I have tried plenty of chocolate shops in my life and I really cannot think of any that beats Dumon when it comes to just sheer quality. Usually I don't like buying those collection boxes that has one piece of each type cause I always find several to be mediocre or even terrible. But that doesn't apply here cause I simply loved every single one of them, it's like they can't fail with it. They aren't particularly fancy with flavours either, they are mostly really "simple" and straightforward in how they taste. If you only decide on one chocolate shop while in Bruges, this is the one.
  • Decent chocolate, however customer service deserves a 0 star! Blunt responses to simple questions, simple wanted us to buy and leave the store! Shame...
  • My wife and I have been in Brugge for three days and we visited a number of local shops, so we decided to enter the tiny shop named Chocolatier Dumon. I did not notice the signs explaining not to touch any of the Chocolate, so when my wife selected a package and removed it from the shelf, a Middle aged woman leaned over the counter and yelled down and said “the chocolate in your hand is €4.50 and it would be better if you use a basket”, I turned back to my wife and the look on her face was utter disappointment and shock. My wife gently placed the chocolate package wrapped in cheap cellophane back on the shelf and said, let’s go. The other woman behind the counter looked surprised that we were in a hurry to leave, although, I’m certain this is not the first time this shop has driven people to leave. We visited to other chocolate shops in town and spent considerable € with pleasant store owners that likely appreciated our purchase. I have traveled the world and met some really rude employees in the service industry, however, I have never felt so insulted at the way this woman spoke to us. It is clear that the Chocolatier Dumon staff are not interested in English speaking patrons.
  • We visited Dumon Chocolates several times during a 3 day visit in December. The chocolate was/is some of the finest I’ve had and the service we received was excellent. The staff explained the many different varieties and helped us choose the ones we were most interested in. I would highly recommend a visit or two or three. The only other top notch chocolate we had was from Neuhaus. We didn’t go to Godiva because it’s plentiful in the states. All the other chocolate stores were far beneath Dumon and Neuhaus in quality.
