SEA LIFE Blankenberge, Blankenberge

#1 of 12 in Things to do in Blankenberge
With feeding times every hour, there are plenty of opportunities at SEA LIFE Blankenberge to see the animals in action. The shark tunnel puts you in the center of the predator's world. While the sharks get your adrenaline pumping, 49 other aquariums house more docile creatures of the sea. A seahorse breeding program has helped fill a tank with the delicate creatures, and playful seals make faces at you from their tank. For an extra fee you can take a photo with the seals in their home under the supervision of a staff member, but you must bring your own camera. Purchase tickets online for a discount on admission. Too expensive for what it is, poorly maintained see dirty, the water of the basin of show is green! And there is a whole area of visit where you walk on it. When the brochure is marked more than 2,500 animals, they have to count fish one by one for the account. Seen much better and cheaper!

Via the internet I had a cheap admission ticket purchased (€12.50) which we (3 friends) also got a free ice cream. That price was well worth it. The park is not too large but beautifully presented. It is renovation, many places are placed. We also have the ' educational moment ' with the seals experienced. That was good, without more. The host rattled off her text and left no form of enthusiasm makes and the French translation of the presenter left a lot to be desired. The hot dog was tasty, fresh bread and two sausages, which also allowed for €6.50. The control was largely in the hands of students, where one already was much friendlier than the other.

After quite a long queue to have done one comes in fairly close corridors. In this period, the pressure and are on the various aquariums back queues. Fortunately, there is also an outdoor area where you can gain back some fresh air. Next to the visgedeelte there is also a children's play area with climbing party and 4 bouncy castles with what muddy surface. For those with children is this play area a happy extension otherwise visit to be very short. For people without children I would say go to a good Zoo like Antwerp where one more quality price. I imagine also what with the play area in winter and spring?

It's quite fun to do if you like animals. The target audience is children, but it can be enjoyed by any age. Ticket prices are fair (15€). Some rooms are too dark, making it hard to see the actual animals. I also find it quite shocking that the animals live on fake grass or swim along plastic sea weed.

Enjoyed this with my 9year old. Nice day out, she enjoyed the play area!

Great fun with children. Good range of animals. Better ticket deals on Groupon.

It is nice, but expected a little bit more. Quite small. The seal show was very nice.

Small but very nice location to visit with children. Very informative and good shows and explanations by the staff.
