We decided to visit the Castle. This was to be a splendid home at a time. But time has taken its toll and a refreshment is required. Carpets of the period are more than glare, the woodwork painted and stucco are gray, the paint flake. But the library is splendid and the floors are in excellent condition. Stairs down to the Gallery of portraits to the lower floor are original. However, all this dire explanations on the history of the Castle and the family line. Neophytes, abstain. Yet, there is a wealth of things to learn. But, €45 for explanations, it's a bit expensive! Damage
Nice castle in the north west of Belgium. Only a small part of the building can be visited. The gardens are beautiful but not really well taken care of. The ponds were dirty and there is not a single ... more »

Inside the castle is completely furnished and much importance is given to field marshal Charles-Joseph, the most well-known member of the family. Parts would need an extensive restoration program as tables, floors, furniture are often damaged and dusty. The library, which houses some 20,000 volumes is breathtaking. The Park is huge and would have him also need a more intensive treatment: to cut hedges, flower planting, statues to restore but it would be shame not to take advantage to make a nice ride. The small brewery in the courtyard of the Castle presents a beautiful map of beers and desserts. The estate is open in July and August from 13:00 to 18:00 (last admission at 17:15) on weekends in April, may, June and September.
I don't think you can get in the actually building, but they grounds are very nice. There's so much room, you're unlikely to run into another tourist. But you will run into a few friendly swans. If you have kids, I'm sure they'll have a blast running around, and no one will stop them. If you're looking for a private place to enjoy a romantic minute, you can find that here too.
Slightly high price to get in but they put that to good use as the chateau is very well maintained. This is a must if you're in the area
One of the most beautiful places I had ever been.
Three stars because doesn't have a tour or at least a map with info. You just walk limited spaces of the chateâu. But beautiful!
Beautiful château and we enjoyed the tour. The tour did not include any literature or historical facts so it was just a good look at a lot of antique furniture and family portraits. Gardens were ok; I think we expected more. Worth seeing once.
