  • This small piece of wood to a little more than two kilometers of the Mardasson and its Museum are easy to reach and consists of tree plantations various representative symbol of peace seen from above with the Virgin carrying the child. This symbolic place in the memories of veterans plates which traveled to these places located in the defensive center of Bastogne at cde encircling the city in December 1944. Several associations annually visit with families of veterans to their make tributes they deserve. This place is a place of meditation and contemplation.

  • When we were in Bastogne we absolutely wanted to find some foxholes of the E-company. Our search began at the bois de la paix. A beautiful Memorial stamp laid out by veterans for Veterans of the war. But, gen foxholes. After some research, we found that the manholes on the road between bizery and foy were to be found at bois Jacques. Here is a memorial monument of the e-company that have fought in the heroic therefore lying forests, but still no foxholes. This we have found a few hundred metres away by bois Jacques in the direction of foy. Here is a small monument topped with a soldier and a tank. And in the Woods behind this monument can you find numerous foxholes in a line. All on a meter or two of each other, focused to the road. I found this pretty impressive. Certainly also because it had snowed at our visit well and it was pretty cold. In any case it was a nice reward of our search and a beautiful relic of the gruesome battle of bastogne. Eternal respect for the men of e company and all others who have fought here. We will never forget!
