  • The neighborhood exudes almost infinite fin de siècle in beautiful, varied and if but again surprising images. One after the other unique property, almost completely intact in a nice consistency. Close proximity to many restaurants and cafes ... a neighborhood to a afternoon to stroll and enjoy

  • From Antwerp Berchem station, there are a few steps to the district around the Cogels Osylei, set in 1980 as a panorama of the city completely under monumental protection. And rightfully so! The economic upturn between 1888 and 1894 had well-off citizens buildings according to their taste flaunting their wealth. Therefore passed Temple of Greek style, Tuscan villas, Venetian Palazzo and French-style castle, with Oriel Windows and turrets are crowned today with pillars. Particularly impressive are the houses in the style of the "Belle Epoque", E.g. Cogels-Osylei 50, House "De Zonnebloem", besides tulips and Irishaus, also there house number 80,: Quinten Matsijs, also Waterloostraat 30 11, 61. look around, there everywhere to discover something! Fantastic four houses with the four seasons are "De Vier Seizoenen" at the intersection of General van Merlenstraat and Waterloostraat. Everything is harmonious mosaics, triangular, springing from the façade Bay, seasonal motifs at the Glasarbeiten...bis in detail. Just amazing! In the Transvaalstraat No. 15 (de twaalf Apostelen/1907), Nr. 27-33 (a classical Temple ensemble), no. 45 (Cottage style), Nr. 52 (de Lotus / Moorish Horseshoe reliefs) there is more to see even lots of...
