Gain an appreciation for the history of printing at Museum Plantin-Moretus. Housed inside the former residence and printing house of one of Belgium's great printers, the museum was formerly Plantin Press, where Christophe Plantin and Jan Moretus produced some of the country's earliest printed materials. The museum's history, as well as its collection of typography, has garnered it World Heritage Site recognition. The press itself opened in the 16th century and continued to function until the 19th century, printing texts and books as well as advertisements and art prints. You can discover some of the rare printed artworks in the print room exhibit. Presses and other tools of the trade are exhibited as if waiting to begin work the next morning. Rent an audioguide during your visit to get more insight into the exhibits on your self-guided tour. In my opinion it was a really beautiful museum. You could really see how they made books back then and we were also able to try it out ourselves. There is also a museum app where you can find...

I almost walked past this place without noticing it all, but there were some cool woodcut images on the Building which piqued my interest so I had to go inside. There was no queue, the staff were really helpful and spoke perfect English, it was a mind opening experience and so so beautiful inside that I would highly recommend everyone going pst should pop in! It’s worth the money as you get some free prints and a free audio guide.

One of my favorites museum in Antwerpen, one of the ones I really wanted to go and even better I've been there. The mood inside the museum is insane, the colours and the lights are really well placed. The garden in the middle of the museum is amazing as well. The workers are super kind and funny, helped me a lot because I was going in the wrong direction of the exhibition ahah I really recommend to go there.

Truly interesting museum, not crowded, with free audio guide and very helpful staff. There is worth every single penny of its ticket fee. It is informative and with amazing exhibits
-
Really interesting museum about a family who brought the printed word to the masses. One of the most significant inventions of all time and a must see. Audio guide is short and snappy so you can move through at a reasonable pace. UNESCO listed
-
An excellent museum with an extensive collection and a really well done audio guide. Significantly more Rubens art here than at the nearby Rubens House. Will definitely be back.
