  • The small city of Zaslavl (ex: Izyaslavl, built by Grand Duke Vladimir Kyivan), which I visited 22-23 April, surprised me with purity, tranquility and beauty of the city itself, but even more I was shocked to see saved the inhabitants of the ancient city of XVI century with wonderful Transfiguration Temple. The whole territory of district settlement turned into a wonderful attraction. Child size town alley sculptures, Park, pond and a place where come wedding procession to take pictures and have a great time before the wedding feast. Near the central square with the Museum and the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin. Ethnographic museum with a mill, a barn and a hotel for peasants is located next to the castle complex under the open sky. In the town there is another shrine, built on the personal funds of the famous Belarusian artist Victor Markavca and his wife Tatiana Garanskoj. Temple immediately became a favorite place for residents. I advise all visitors to Belarus, to visit the town, enjoy the peace and quiet of nature stored middle ages!

  • Zaslav′ is a very ancient city, founded in Belarus at the time of Prince Vladimir. And it was called Izyaslav. Quite an interesting place for lovers of history, with provincial, slow-flowing life. Now here you can still see traces of the first settlement, high ramparts, an ancient hillfort, stone cross, known as the "Tomb of Rogneda" (Princess of Polotsk, wife of Prince Vladimir and Izyaslav's mother), an ancient temple on the site of the former Castle, the remains of the entrance gate of the Castle. Here is the ancient historical town half an hour away from Minsk.
