Mir Castle, Mir

Categories: Castles, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web
The present form of Mir Castle testifies to its turbulent history. Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance influences blend harmoniously to create this World Heritage-listed monument. The complex features exhibits, embankments, parks, ponds, and a chapel with the tomb of the last owner. View the reconstruction of the mid-18th century Rococo interior in the portrait hall and then rent an audio guide to learn more about the castle's history. You can taste some local cuisine at a restaurant in the basement. Amenities include a hotel and a gift shop. Be prepared to climb a lot of steep, narrow, winding stairways. See Mir Castle and all Grodno Region has to offer by arranging your trip with our Grodno Region vacation route planner.

  • Been there several times already. Walk-very much even anything. Museum like. Yes, you could make it more interesting. But so good. Are interested in the fate of the Castle. In addition, I heard that 70% of the Castle contains himself. Very beautiful chapel for the Castle and Lake.

  • Very beautiful place. After two days in Minsk decided to visit Mir castle and Nesvizh. Recommend to visit both. They are totally different and each is beautiful in its own way.

  • What an amazing castle. This is truly a remarkable place where you are right in the middle of history. A most informing museum and on top of that a very decent restaurant 😊. It deserves its place on the Unesco list!
  • This is one of the best castles in Europe! Really worth going. Belarus was major European power for ages and these fantastic remains are good evidence.
  • Beautiful castle and well maintained museum i love it...!!
  • Half of the population of Mir was Jewish (Like in Grodno Neisvizch...) The first murder of the Jews of Mir was on the castle hill The last Jews of Mir concentrated in the castle before the SS murdered them. 4 stars for the importance of the place. Like is not the right word.
  • It must be in top 5 places to see in Belarus!
