Mir Castle, Mir

The present form of Mir Castle testifies to its turbulent history. Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance influences blend harmoniously to create this World Heritage-listed monument. The complex features exhibits, embankments, parks, ponds, and a chapel with the tomb of the last owner. View the reconstruction of the mid-18th century Rococo interior in the portrait hall and then rent an audio guide to learn more about the castle's history. You can taste some local cuisine at a restaurant in the basement. Amenities include a hotel and a gift shop. Be prepared to climb a lot of steep, narrow, winding stairways. I must say that specifically go watch this object does not recommend. The announcement of this interest in guidebooks exceeds reality. The area around the castle is a large, well groomed, and the castle itself. The exhibits, which are represented inside the Castle are mostly replica. Completely renovated Castle from the outside already nowadays, Interior and especially the transitions and stairways are original appearance. Categorically recommend not to visit the castle in Shoe heels. As the climb up on the many stairs very difficult: they are extremely narrow and nearly vertical with high steps. Exploring the Castle you have gone about an hour. Beside the object there are several car parks, but at the weekend the number of parking spaces was not enough and it is extremely difficult to find. Entrance 14 Bel. USD per adult.

In this castle I was little bored. Exposition was little poor. I was scared of steep stairs.:D Ticket is not value of his price. It's enough for me to look parts without ticket.  more »

This is exactly what we said during a visit to the Nesvizh Castle, one of the employees ... She was right. The Mir castle have an impressive thickness of walls, facing them, which held not in all places, as if deliberately leaving the visitors the chance to experience firsthand his age. .. Castle-castle. It is a pity that, unlike the Nesvizh it completely looted, ravaged inner part. .. But it is perfectly restored and furnished with furniture of those centuries, brought from many European countries, which helped preserve that era, her aura. The castle is impressive in its size, grandeur. Very glad that visited here.

Must! The eastern gothic styled palace/fortress in the world. Great history. Interesting museum complex and exposition. Cozy restaurant with charming staff. And finally very-very amazing hotel with modern well--equipped rooms, awesome view from windows. And very-very quiet at night. A little bit creepy but definitely cool!

A very sweet castle with a cellar restaurant, but a lousy museum. Perhaps for kids only - I would recommend to walk around more after lunch.

It was a pleasure to have a walk around the castle. We were there in autumn when yellow and red colored trees beautifully highlight the castle.

This is the place to be seen in Belarus. In the castle many exhibitions and get ready to be very high steps. The lake next to the parking lot there are a few cafes.
