Victory Park, Minsk
(4.6/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
At Victory Park, walk along the shore of a lake complete with sculptures and fountains that commemorate victory over the Nazis. The park was due to open on June 22, 1941, but on that same day Nazi Germany attacked the USSR. Notice the obelisk at the entrance dedicated to Minsk's heroes. See the victory fountain, which has 53 granite elements representing the number of divisions that liberated Minsk. Attractions include a beach, bicycle trails, a health trail, and a children’s playground. Cross a little bridge to get to a bird island--a wildlife reserve--that is home to a variety of birds, including some rare species. • favorite place for locals, in summer and winter. Within the boundaries of the Park is the Museum of the great patriotic war, by the way, if today the second Tuesday, the entrance to it is free. Bird Island can be accessed free of charge every day, only to discover the ecological path, so you will have saved the island and its inhabitants from excess anthropogenic pressures. The only problem in the Park is the food. Not chips, beer, ice cream, and a normal nice food ... its just not. And sorry, a beautiful café terrace with French and not coated with type "greenhouse not" prevented the city

  • I like how this park organized. Here you can found everything which you expect to find in parks: shady alleys, fountains, river with cosy islands, contemporary art exhibition, playground and so on. Es...  more »
