Victory Park, Minsk

4.7
#1 of 38 in Parks in Belarus
At Victory Park, walk along the shore of a lake complete with sculptures and fountains that commemorate victory over the Nazis. The park was due to open on June 22, 1941, but on that same day Nazi Germany attacked the USSR. Notice the obelisk at the entrance dedicated to Minsk's heroes. See the victory fountain, which has 53 granite elements representing the number of divisions that liberated Minsk. Attractions include a beach, bicycle trails, a health trail, and a children’s playground. Cross a little bridge to get to a bird island--a wildlife reserve--that is home to a variety of birds, including some rare species. • Guys we got here in the middle of January 2018. This is truly a giant Park in the center of Minsk. Perfectly tidy and cleaned. Here is a whole mass of interesting objects. Recommend! Although, of course, you decide ...

  • If you are looking for open space near to water and surrounded by green trees in the summer, you must consider Victory Park as an option. There are several attractions for both, adults and children, making of this a good for family entertainment.
  • Rented a bike and rode around the park, it is very pleasant and the path was very smooth. Near the Marriott Hotel, there are two bridges that has a steep, smooth bump. It felt awesome on the mountain bicycle. There were only few people and you should not expect to be on a crowded path. I ride 25 kmh (15-16 mph) for the whole path without any issues.
  • Beautiful park, good for people watching and afternoon strolls. If walking is not your thing you can segway around the place. Nice fountain is displayed in the evening ahead of the ma n entrance.
  • Large park near center of Minsk. I like possibility of skating/cycling here. Good place for photos because nature is awesome. You also can buy something to eat if you feel hungry.
  • Just beautiful! great walk, great grass to sit, rest, nap and yoga :)

Where to stay in Minsk

The funky town of Minsk is flooded with cool hotels and chic apartments to rent, many of which can be quite luxurious. Renting an apartment is a great option--and if you are traveling with a group, you can keep the cost per person down. While bed and breakfasts and guesthouses are not quite as popular in this city, you can find affordable lodging at the nice but less expensive hotels that may sacrifice location or amenities. Most hotels and hostels will arrange to register you as a foreigner with the police. If you rent an apartment-style accommodation, make sure to check in advance whether or not your host will do so. Without registration, you can stay in Belarus for only five business days.
