2.7/5 based on 70+ reviews on the web
At GUM--essentially a department store--peruse the aisles for souvenirs such as Russian dolls and handpainted boxes. The building is a typical example of Socialist Realism and serves as a 20th-century architectural landmark. The department store was built in 1951. It offers clothes, shoes, toys, cosmetics, souvenirs, household appliances, and more. Look for Soviet-style radios or digital Elektronika watches--a must for collectors of kitsch.
