Visiting the Castle, once again feel regret that so much of what we in Belarus have been destroyed over the years. But still ancient stones attract. And remember Jagiello, who wanted to strengthen his power, and Kęstutis, zadushennogo here, and Vytautas, who has fled from here.

Of course, I want to say that, seeing the ruins, one can understand "how it was built," but the fact that cows graze inside the Castle ... I didn't even know about it can be said that the local it just rocks.

Visited in his mini tour "castles in Belarus. If memory serves me right, 16-century castle. Very interesting to compare with the nearby Gol'shanskim Castle. To "cut" the walls of the older Kreva clearly shows that its thick walls consisted mainly of stone and brick was facing only. The castle itself gives the impression of an old sleeping giant-heroes, Svyatogor's clicked. The castle is surrounded by, if you look through a grid, you can see how huge it was. When you do this, you can see that within the works on restoration: the rubble has been cleared, some scaffolding. Lovers of Antiquities-recommend!

Very interesting object. And most interesting is that it is tied to the specific historical personalities. The main tower are preserved the lower tier and you can imagine that it was there and was imprisoned by Vytautas, from there he escaped. And generally, Castle-probably one of the oldest castles in Belarus, which has been preserved sufficiently to imagine how it looked in the 14 century. to some extent it is a symbol of the period of formation of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. It is a pity that the scaffolding with my first visit in the year 2000, in 2017 has already collapsed and nothing new on the restoration of the monument was not done.

In 1382, the castle of the Grand Duke Kęstutis was murdered, in 1385, between Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was signed by famous krewo. It was the first in Belarus Castle, built entirely of stone. The thickness of the walls was 2.5 meters, the height is 12-13 meters. The Castle has two towers. It is a pity that he's now Belarus does not need. What written plaques, it means nothing. There are no major tourist sites: food, souvenirs, hotels.

You can recover and reconstruct, and especially the Castle, the oldest at Bìlorussì (XIIIst) and one of the oldest in the former teretorìâh of the Commonwealth, in the dungeons of the castle was found strangled to death a great Prince Lithuanian Kejstut, and in 1385, was signed by krevsky Union, so this is very interesting and invaluable place that must be necessarily vìdnovlennim, as is done with the Lìds′kim lock (he was in a similar condition) but requires a desire to local žiharìv , historians and pen′ondzami support from the State and of himself, Mr. Lukashenko has so to do, for it is the same and is one of the faces of Bìlorussì.
