Architectural Building Landmark
See how former aristocrats in Gomel lived at Palace of the Rumyantsevs and the Paskeviches. Ivan Starov designed the Neoclassical palace for Field Marshal Pyotr Rumyantsev in the late 18th century. The palace features archaeological, ethnographic, and numismatic collections. Walk through the fully restored ground floor, and see living rooms and receiving halls. Notice the original paintings, sculptures, dukes' weapons, and personal items. Collections include icons and religious items, handwritten books, and books printed before the 18th century. The palace is a part of a larger historical complex that features a chapel, a burial vault, a winter garden, a watchtower, and a mid-19th-century park. • I visited the museum and the park in summer. The park is nice and have a lot of beautiful trees and fontaines. As for the museum it was not impressive.  more »

  • I'm a not park lover but this one stole my heart! Beautiful trees and river. But the best part of it is park's inhabitants - animals. Squirrels were so hospitable - you can feed them from your hand!  more »

  • Worth a visit if you happen to be in Gomel. Besides an opportunity to visit the palace, you get to see some beautiful rooms, and a few nice icons as part of the collection. You can climb to the top floor of the bell tower which is filled with exhibitions. There is also an audio tour in English. Unfortunately quite a few pieces of art have disappeared from the palace during WWII.
  • Tourist attraction👍
  • Good!
  • "Restoration" of the Palace is made according to the principle "I kluged it from what was" everywhere betrays the cheapness and bestolkovost'. It is clear that our national school for restorers is strong not just in the world, but even in the region, but for the most important tourist attraction in the city could fork out and invite local intelligent aliens. And fork out more would. Kassem works appallingly-I could not find an official price list. And I just was looking for a comprehensive online mentioned ticket to visit the several objects of the complex at a reduced cost. The rest of the employees of the Museum are welcome and friendly-will help prompt, advise and just smile.

  • Restored after the destruction of the Palace, where a number of offices have lost their original meaning and tailored to the needs of the servants of the people. So in the dining room of the Princes Hall is arranged, where every meeting and signing documents. On the walls hang portraits of famous city dwellers. In the former the white living room staged a Chamber Hall, which hosts various concerts and events. Under the Museum's needs took Tower and a couple of premises in the left wing. Museum ticket worth 5 rubles, it includes cost bahill. When entering hand audioguide to which you can attach headphones with 3.5 mm jack. In the basement where the cashier is an interactive space in which using the Android apps you can see pictures and take pictures with them.
