Lights Alley, Brest

4.9
Walk down , where each lantern sculpture tells a story. Each gas lamp is part of an elaborate piece of metal artwork that pays homage to everyday people. Sit in an old carriage or on a bench below a little cupid with an arrow. See a giant nose sticking out from an officer's collar, illustrating a satire by famous Russian writer Nikolai Gogol. Other sculptures include a little shoe shiner, an artist's easel, a tradesman selling pretzels, and more. At sunset, the lamplighter starts turning up the lanterns by hand. You can watch a light show from one of the many small cafes nearby. Plan a trip to Brest easily and quickly by telling Inspirock to suggest an itinerary.

  • What stalwarts, those who had the idea to create such a wonderful city alleys, those directly created this beauty with his own hands, and those who sponsored the idea of:)))! So great, subtle and inspired work! Bravo masters who created such unusual and beautiful lights, which could serve as a decoration for any capital city! Rejoice for Brest dwellers, who are able to walk on it at any time).

  • A good place for walking, where you can do a lot of photos with the sights of the city of Brest on Gogol's works, with different lampposts and not only.

Where to stay in Brest

While the city of Brest is still sizeable, it does'nt boast the abundance of accommodations that its big brother, Minsk, does. While lodging type is more or less limited to hotels, they vary in price and offerings. Hostels and a guesthouse or two provide some budget accommodation in and near the center. Most hotels and hostels will arrange to register you as a foreigner with the police. If you rent an apartment-style accommodation, make sure to check in advance whether or not your host will do so. Without registration, you can stay in Belarus for only five business days.
