Create an itinerary including Hunte's Gardens
Explore the lush tropical grounds of Hunte's Gardens, a manicured, sculpted plot that works to retrain the jungle's unruliness. Stop at various seats and soak up the atmosphere of various mini-gardens, and take time to observe hummingbirds questing for nectar and lizards basking in the sun. On your way around the gardens, be sure to stop and refresh yourself with homemade rum punch and freshly squeezed fruit juices, which are prepared by the gardens' friendly and passionate owner. • Beautiful gardens! Plenty to see. The owner sits and talks to guests. Very nice visit. Flowers, plants and lazy cats made it a very good experience.

  • It's always a great pleasure to visit this amazing space. Meeting the owner and chatting over a rum punch is a good way to round the visit off too. The gardens are beautiful and tranquil. Take a walk around, take a picnic and/or take a book and just chill. This was our third visit over the years and it just gets better. Hope the photos do it some justice.
  • Magical, so much packed into this little place, and if you head up to the cafe you can hang out with the mastermind behind it all. Recommend not being in a rush as Mr Hunte is very friendly and will engage whatever group is sat there at the time in conversation - people will come and go and you'll have a lovely time chatting with all of them. Well worth a visit.
  • We all know that Mother Nature can create inexplicable beauties, but with the help of Mr. Hunte’s imagination and hands it literally takes your breath away! It’s a mesmerizing place where you’re going to feel how your batteries are being recharged. Walk, smell, breathe and enjoy what this gem has to offer. Don’t forget to sit back and relax while having a chat with Mr. Hunte himself on the balcony overseeing the garden. If anyone plans to visit this garden, you’ll definitely not regret it!!!
  • Stunning site to visit. A true gem hidden in the middle of Barbados. 2+ acres of beautiful, colorful exotics. Shame the monkeys are decimating the hummingbird population by raiding the egg nests. :-(
  • Due to seaweed on the beaches we thought we would visit Hunters garden today. Wasn't expecting much as only 20 US dollars but WOW was I wrong! I'm not into tropical plants but you don't need to know their names to admire their beauty and the peace and serenity of the place. Easy to walk paths at the top, and if you up to it just a few steps (mostly with hand rails) down into the lower levels. There are little shady hideaways everywhere so bring your own picnic and a bottle of wine. Gentle music plays while you marvel at the surroundings. The owner Anthony serves you in the little cafe/shop on his veranda where he will answer all your questions. Some say stay an hour... We stayed 3 and a half and only left because they were closing! Go by car or bus but whatever you do, don't visit Barbados without visiting this little gem.
