Pelican Craft Center, Bridgetown
(2.1/5 based on 80+ reviews on the web)
Take home some of the Barbados craftsmen's best local handicrafts at Pelican Craft Center. The quaint little shopping village opened in 1999. Extravagantly colored floral displays complement exotically colored buildings and engulf the walkways. Trees and benches stand in abundance in the squares and provide a great resting area. Find music disks, hats, t-shirts, local art, photos, jewelry, wind chimes, and much more. Make Pelican Craft Center part of your personalized Bridgetown itinerary using our Bridgetown trip itinerary planner.

  • Most shops were open and owners were very nice and helpful. My favorite was Aziphos Creations, beautiful handcrafted jewelry which i purchased for myself and gifts!
  • We are into our craft work and so were very disappointed when we went to Pelican to find most of the places were shut and the ones that were open just had the usual touristy things that could be found...  more »
  • We walked north from the Parliament building in Bridgetown to get to this "village" of small shops (about 1/2 mile). The walk can be very hot, depending on the time of day. Most (not all) of the small...  more »

  • I went here at 2pm on a Monday and it was a ghost town. The few shops that were open didn't have much. The exterior of the craft centre looks colorful and appealing but I think it left much to be desired.
