Sonargaon, Dhaka City

Categories: Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
3.8/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web
Sonargaon stands as a window to the once glorious past. See gorgeous ornate architecture, intricate flower decorations framing doors, and windows now standing completely abandoned and covered in moss. Although the development started under Buddhist control, the city flourished under several hundred years of Muslim rule. The buildings have deteriorated significantly, but some traces of the once-vibrant colors pop out now and then. Visit the folk arts and craft museum to see handiworks made by local artisans, then check out Panam city, built in colonial style during the British rule and inspired by many European cities. • Informative. Unusually. Feel the antiquity and the tragedy of these buildings. Local guards to hold the streets tell the good English history of the city and houses, will take 100 taka. The Museum Watch, you can take a walk in the Park. In shops "local works", but it is not so expensive. It's a shame that here everywhere dirt and debris, do not know when Queens will learn not to litter, such a beautiful place and all slow. Leave your car in the parking lot, between the grazing sheep immediately.

  • Very old establishment and sign of old Indipendent capital Bengal. Also local cultural museum and shopping available.
  • Best place for outing and people will enjoy a full day outing from outside of the city. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and the docor of that grand architecture
