  • This is the Planetarium in Dhaka. When I was in town, the local colleagues, I have spoken of a planetarium very modern but never got a chance to attend a presentation. However, intrigued, I went to see it from the outside and it's a nice architecture.

  • The planetarium was designed by architect Ali Imam. The Planetarium dome simulates Earth and its cool blue sky. This dome-shaped theater was built with the latest equipment, enabling visitors to soar into space as well as experience the thrills of an interplanetary journey in a three-dimensional environment. The curved ceiling represents the sky and shows moving images of planets and stars through projection onto a large-screen dome at an angle of 120 degrees.
  • In this theater, different types of documentary films are shown. The documentary explains the space, the sun and the planets. In addition, the documentary explains the nature, heritage and rural life of Bangladesh. There is parking arrangement in this theatre. There are separate toilets for men and women. Theatre is closed on Wednesdays and all public holidays. Each ticket is worth 100 taka.
  • Its good for children.. but now its totally waste of time as its original print is not good enough and they added some low quality documentary.. I would like to request them to get high quality print for all show
  • The Novo theatre is situated right in the heart of Dhaka city and it’s a nice place to visit especially if you have kids with you. It’s a planetarium theater . they have a large Dome shaped gallery , where 3D movie is shown. The 3D movie is projected on the large Dome shaped ceiling of the gallery hall. The movie is about the Universe, stars , galaxies , planets , black holes, the earth and much more. The movie is very thrilling and exciting as it is in 3D, it gives a really different experience. This is called the planetarium show and it’s the main attraction of the place. The movie is about 1 hour long. Then there is a 5 D simulation ride. Which is really awesome. This ride is about 6 minutes. Next there is an jet plane simulation ride which is also 6 minutes. This ride is not that much interesting as the others. Then there is a science hall that has some science teaching modules and video games.  There are about 4 shows every day . starting from 10 am up to 5 pm. But its hard to get the tickets. There is always a good crowd and all tickets are often sold out. if you go late you may not get tickets for your desired show. You must go at least 2 hours before time of your desired show time to get tickets. Even then you will have to stand in a long queue. The the show is rewarding and over shadows the trouble of getting the tickets. Tickets can also be booked in advance by using a Teletalk SIM card mobile phone. One person can buy 3 tickets at a time by using teletalk sim card mobile.  Entry ticket fare (includes the planetarium show ) : 100 tk/ person Other rides : 50 tk/ person for each ride.  You can go to their web site for show timings.
  • I visited here 1 year ago. Here you'll find many amazing shows which will cost 50TK (Except Platinum show). Usually it remains closed on Sunday. Have a nice day here.
