Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Center, Manama

(4.5/5 based on 45+ reviews on the web)
A visit to Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Center allows you to admire the country’s largest mosque, and one of the largest in the world, dedicated to the founder of Bahrain. Over 7,000 people can worship here at one time thanks to the mosque's large surface area of 6,500 sq m (1,60 ac). The best way to explore and learn is to take a guided tour--available in several languages--which will lead you through the complex and tell you more about the history and customs of the area. Don’t miss the national library inside the complex, with over 7,000 books, including some incredibly rare old editions. Take a look at our Manama vacation planner to schedule your visit to Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Center and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Not comparable to the Sheik Zayed. Still very interesting. Is worth a visit in any case and if it is in Bahrain you should be planned anyway. We had a very informative and in-depth conversation about religion.
