Government Building Tourist Spot
History and architecture buffs should not miss Government House, the stately seat of the Bahamas' Governor General. Dominating a 4 hectare (10 acre) estate, the flamboyant pink and white facade of this 1801 building represents a blend of local and colonial British and American traits. Check the house's schedule of events for the chance to experience the changing of the guards. Pay special attention to the display plaques outside the building detailing Bahamas history. • Beautiful building with some amazing gardens. Bit of a steep hill climb to get to, but well worth it.
  • Great place for a stroll. Impressive building and gardens, although the gardens were a bit neglected when we were there. The guards are friendly and efficient.
  • We'll it's in the Bahamas and it is very beautiful
  • Impressive Colonial house with a great statue of Columbus
  • Nice place to visit to get some history in the Bahamas. Reasonably well kept and tidy.
