  • Our Main Focus When Visiting the Bahamas was not diving, as we didn't promise ourselves much about the Underwater Landscape. So We left our Equipment completely at Home and rented everything except for the Masks. The Diving School is as very good and especially praised. We booked a 2 tank dive with Sharkdive (in the Bahamas is seemingly always fed). The Advanced Certification was wanted to be seen but the Health Certificate did not. The Equipment was moderately good or rather bad. There were 3mm Shortys. At 25 Degrees Water Temperature already crisp. There was no Check dive. Three Quarters of An Hour we went, from the Stella Maris Marina and Dive Center (2-3 Miles from the Hotel) out by boat in front of Cape Santa Maria to a Reef. There the Lead was checked briefly and then it started. Bottles etc. were prepared by the crew. You had little Influence yourself and had to trust the Material, the Levels of Filling and the People. The first Dive lasted about 45 Minutes, during which the Dive Master wanted to get an Idea of whether people were all capable and ready for the Shark Dive. In Our Opinion, they weren't and I also doubted they were Advanced Diver. One of the Divers killed 5 Corals with his Fins on the already sparse and fish-rich Reef. And those were just the ones we saw. And everywhere from the Amatures, it blubbered. Depth was about 12 Meters. Then we went on To Shark Reef. On Arrival there everything had to be fully roasted and all 5 Divers jumped into the Water together with negative entry and a lot of Lead. The Sharks were already circling the Boat, waiting for The feeding. At a depth of 10 Metres, we sat in the Sand. The Bucket with the Fish Remains flew into the Water. We didn't notice That fast enough, because we weren't quite placed in the Sand yet. We also looked against sunlight and current, so the swirled Sand fogged the View. Stuozing Mistake by the Crew. After the approximately 10-15 Sharks had pounced on the Bait, they then pulled their Tracks around us. The whole Dive lasted maybe 20 Minutes. After that, straight up and out quickly was the Instruction.
