Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, Great Exuma

(4.8/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Since 1958, the mangrove haven of Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park has remained a protected park with a strictly "take only photographs, leave only footprints" policy. The tropical location showcases floating epiphytic orchids and magenta bromeliads, while Bahamian hutia rodents are the only native terrestrial mammals. A number of sea birds fly overhead, and many colorful Stromatolite reefs and schools of fish can be found just off shore. See the swimming pigs, feed nurse sharks, and snorkel or scuba dive to take in the protected marine community here. • Visiting the Cays, a collection of over 300 small islands around Great Exuma was one of the highlights of our stay. Magnificent, sandy white beaches with crystal clear, azure water is like a phantasy....  more »
  • ...Aber now honestly, here it is... 50 shades of turquoise, this includes rock iguanas, which unfortunately until, on the Nicolas Cage Island (has it due to the "plague" again sold) are almost extinct. Sandbanks with unearthly colour games, even in the harsh noon light. Nurse sharks to touch, who do want and thinks to do good so that the animals, and of course not forgetting the famous floating pigs! The encounter in the leaflets everywhere, and everyone thinks they have but not alle...aber it was just awesome, and alone because it is then driven in this magnificent park. Caution, not too much with the toast disk wobble, otherwise it is kicked accidentally, bruise lasts exactly ten days! The critters are extremely possierlich, shred the embankment down immediately as soon as a boat with food within reach and then there's around different tourist delight. Doing neither, interferes with itself that in the water gestrullt wird...ein incredible spectacle in the meantime. We were full-day tour on the road, I don't find here unfortunately were good with 4Cs adventures! The speedboat carts a whopping 126 miles (times 1.8 km) through the dream-blue waters of the marine of parks whether it's bad that we know nicht...das all costs while $175 per nose, but it is worth forever in the brain to store impression the Bahamas all times. From the plane, it looks out awesome of course, so just the approach already out look. The only thing did cancel the trip, was the "visit" (means the orbit) to which almost 50% in Laos islands of the super-rich mostly American actors or folk singer David Copperfield owns all ten Islands for themselves alone. Hopefully, those can reasonably responsible deal with the natural heritage. But as more resorts are built, I believe not. This day was the most beautiful thing we have seen in two weeks of Bahamas.
