  • Great place for lots of food types and drinks. We love to go to Zorbas. They also have a great coffee and dessert bar.  more »
  • If a shopping is important to you and you're coming from a cruise ship don't waste your time. Long commute from Port and shopping is dismal compared to Nassau.  more »

  • Port Lucaya Market Place is very fun and welcoming environment for not only the tourist to walk around but the locals as well. There are many different shops, bars, and restaurants that sell a wide variety of items, from things that you might be familiar to to unique souvenirs. At night, Port Lucaya has Bahamian singers on stage performing along, with the man who limbos with fire. It is extremely lively at night, so don’t be afraid to start dancing on the dance floor.
  • Nice place. If it’s busy the vendors aren’t real aggressive. Bring your passport; if you buy jewelry there is no VAT tax (7.5%). NEGOTIATE EVERYTHING. PAY CASH. They prefer American dollars.
  • So much had changed over the years mostly for the worst. A lot of long standing businesses have closed down and most of the ones still in operation seem to be struggling. Even the feelings I once experienced had changed and the vibe is no longer there. I miss the old Port Lucaya with the laughter of children, the clutter of people walking about, relaxing and talking and the overpowering welcoming of businesses.... out with the old and.. that's it!
  • Great restaurants and local finds. The people are friendly and the sights are great. Large courtyard with plenty of seating and musical entertainment.
  • The shop between the Welcome center and John Bull has a vender named Charlene who makes phenomenally georgeous and unique jewelry out of indigenous materials. Absolutely unique products. Check her out.
