Count Basie Square, Freeport
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Get to the heart of Bahamian cultural life at Count Basie Square, a public plaza hosting live music events in the evenings. By day, explore the stores, restaurants, and bars surrounding the peaceful square. Do a little souvenir shopping, and then refuel at one of the varied eateries. After dark, the plaza transforms into a hub of local entertainment. The speakers here get turned up loud, so be prepared to be a little overwhelmed at first. Arrange to visit Count Basie Square and other attractions in Grand Bahama Island using our Grand Bahama Island travel itinerary maker.
