  • Spent a lot of time in at Big Game Resort as we were diving with Niel Watson Bimini Scuba Center, which is also located at the resort. The food is pretty good, but service is slow (like rest of the is...  more »

  • We were here for a week, and chose the spot as it is next to the dive shop, so this was a choice for convenience. We did like the property overall and prefer independent operators to chains. However, ...  more »

  • Fantastic Marina with a large pool. The Marina is well build and the rates are fair. Only complaint: The NO WAKE zone is not being enforced and a lot of boats blow through at a high speed. It really throws your boat around and could cause damage. If it were not for this non enforcement we would easily give this Marina 5 stars.
  • I came to Bimini to celebrate my birthday and ate here the night before. I ordered the fish tacos and my son had the conch dinner. The tacos were disgusting. A tiny piece of fish covered in hard yellow cheese. That's it! The avocado and salsa that were supposed to be on it came in two tiny little plastic tubs. The avocado was a brown paste like it was made yesterday. I could only eat one and a half of them. There were three, and Thankfully That's all I ate because I started throwing up at 5am. Ruined my birthday. $70 for 2 plates and 2 beers and the service was horrible. Of course because the 18% is already included. I can't recommend eating here but if you do definitely don't eat the fish tacos! Ughhhh
  • OK time. Thank goodness I'm just two hours from Marathon and the beautiful Florida Keys. Not worth the money.
  • I don't usually write reviews but this was a particularly disappointing experience. The Big Game Club gets two stars mainly for the scope of the facilities they have: 1) good clean pool; 2) restaurant/bar; 3) lounge; 4) convenience store; 5) diving excursions with nice crew; 6) marina; 7) outdoor games; 8) conference room and 9) fairly well maintained buildings and landscapes. That's where the 'good' ends though. There is no direct beach access, so you will need to exit the club and walk through Alice Town yourself to find the beach on the other side of the island. There is trash everywhere on the side of the roads and in abandoned yards. There is a fair amount of rubbish and glass on the beach. I have no idea what the "Lounge" is for since we never saw it open the week we were there. The service in the restaurant is a disaster, even by Caribbean standards. There doesn't appear to be any food options so we ate almost every meal for a week there. Almost every item not ordered rare was overcooked. They consistently bring you the wrong order. (As an example, one night my wife ordered the daily fish special with a salad and sauteed vegetables. They brought her the fish with rice/beans and fried plantains. Another time we ordered coffee with our breakfast. It never came.) Unfortunately, the service is so slow and the wait for your food so long, that by the time it comes, you don't want to complain and wait another 30 min. to an hour to get your meal. They include a mandatory 18% gratuity on your tab so there's no interest, apparently, in improving the service. And by the way, your dinner meal starts at about $25 and goes to more than $35 each...so you are REALLY paying through the nose for what is, at best, just edible. Several times I was waiting for the check so long with no sign of the wait staff that I nearly walked out. Not enjoyable at all. The rooms are just passable...depending on how picky you are. As usual in the Caribbean, the ACs can't keep up with dehumidifying your room. There was a stale musty smell when we first got in. One of the other reviewers complained about the concrete floors but, frankly, carpet would have made the whole problem much worse. There is a sisal rug in the room but, really, it would have been better without it. Depending on what room you are in, there is a fair amount of noise from the road behind and some sort of power plant or something on the other side. At least once there was a day-long loss of water (supposedly all over the island) and there was at least one other guest that had bugs in their room. All this disappointment will run you ~ $200 US/night. I'm hoping there are better options for my next visit to Bimini (if there is a next visit). If not, it seems somebody surely has a great business opportunity here .... just open a restaurant outside the gates that has decent food and decent service!!
  • Downstairs there is a beautiful breeze but the restaurant is up stairs with little to no breeze. Gratuity and some other charge are already included.
