Sheki Fortress, Sheki
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Explore a compact mid-18th-century Azeri settlement at Sheki Fortress, a well-preserved and partially restored stone fort guarding the Palace of Shaki Khans. An exquisitely decorated façade leads to the ornate interior, with decorative deep blue and ochre tiles, as well as stained-glass windows testifying to the wealth and refined taste of independent Shaki Khans sandwiched between the Persian and Russian empires. The complex features an ethnographic and history museum with a nice armory, as well as a restaurant that provides nice views of the mountainous scenery. Я долго колебался куда поместить свой отзыв, так как в нём я собираюсь рассказать не об одной достопримечательности а сразу о нескольких- Краеведческий музей, Дворец Шекинских ханов, Музей прикладного... read more »I have long hesitated to where to put your review, since it I'm going to tell not one but several landmarks-Museum of local lore, Sheki khans ' Palace, the Museum of applied arts (Albanian Church), House of craftsmen and workshop of Shebeke (Mosaic). And all of this is inside the fortress, Sheki, and so I decided to combine them into one whole. I think tourists will be helpful to know that there is, and that this visit-you decide. The Palace of Sheki khans, so tell Office-non-residential premises (Khans Residence is elsewhere), where they were tried-râdili, little of the Interior, there is almost no furniture, but beautiful paintings on walls and ceilings and, of course, glass-shebeke. The guide will tell you about all the details more competently. Museum of applied art, something like the history museum with clothes, weapons and household items of that time, which is inside a round of the Albanian Church. Literally opposite the Museum, where you learn about Sheki (history, geography, development and production) from ancient times to the present day. By the way, here you can take a picture with the exhibits. I think after the local lore museum of applied go into makes no sense. Local lore and more and more interesting, and the price of one everywhere 2 manat per person. Artisan House-this type of Viipuri series with crafts, magnets, souvenirs, silks, etc. Is right when you step into the fortress. And a little detached for local history museum is workshop of shebeke-mosaics. Recommend to visit. The work is very laborious, interesting, as it is known without the use of nails or glue. You can make your order if you wish, but the pleasure is very expensive)show original
