  • The history of Ordubad Juma Mosque is an architectural monument dating back to ancient times. The mosque was built on a hill called Baraka and is located in the center of Ordubad. The mosque adds beauty to the beauty of Ordubad with the glory given to it by history.
  • The architectural appearance of the mosque has the main features of the monuments of the 17th-18th centuries. The structure, elements and artistic design of the mosque show that its original foundation is older. In the 17th century the mosque was supposedly restored. Geometrical ornaments in the walls of the mosque are reminiscent of the drawings in Nakhchivan's ancient monuments. According to some sources, it was understood that the inscription found in the mosque during the 1901-1902 mosque was erected in the year 111 BC (729 AD). Researchers note that the current appearance of the Juma Mosque is the result of subsequent additions. At present, the mosque has a madrasah in the north-east and hospitals in the west. Mosques and surrounding buildings were restored in 1987.
