The State Carpet Museum of Nakhchivan reviews
The museum was created in 1998. It is located in the Xan palace, which has a 200-year history at the Khan Deli (Gala District). The museum has over 3700 exhibits, of which 305 are carpets. Two of the 8 halls of the museum are dedicated to Nakhchivan khans. Here are all types of carpets - pile and rugs, sumax, vulture, shadda, palaz, cecim and others. carpet products are exhibited. The carpet samples belonging to the XVIII-XIX centuries belonging to Ganja-Gazakh, Guba-Shirvan, Garabagh, Tabriz-Nakhchivan carpet-weaving schools are kept in the museum. In the museum there are also household items - copper jams, pottery and porcelain containers, national costumes of ancient men and women. The Museum of Tomb of the Believer is also operating at the museum. Here are valuable materials on the history of the Atabey people of our people.
In itself, a carpet museum is a rare species worth visiting. Since there is not really anything going on in Nakhchivan, it is almost a must to make a detour there. When I entered the building, I encountered a very unpleasant musty smell, as I unfortunately often hear from stinking mosques and I wanted to turn around again. Further up I entered the museum and the extremely friendly ladies showed me around the entire exhibition free of charge. A great thing even if it has to do with the fact that the dictator comes from Nakhchivan and his money flows there, while other regions have a dreary existence. At the end I was asked to write myself in the guest book, which I was happy to do.
